What a blessing this year's tax return was for me. For years I've been receiving SSI without any earned income. In October of 2021, I was able to work a part-time job that ended in December. Because of that job, I was ecstatic to be able to file taxes & claim the EITC. Not receiving any child tax credits early, I could claim my dependents and any other credits I hadn't received yet. I filed for free & as I continued, I watched in amazement as the tax return amount continued to rise! In the end, the combined total for state & federal was $15,000! I almost couldn't believe it, but it was real and a much-needed lifesaver. I hope there are many others out there that had as terrific a 2021 tax return as I did or better!

U got back 15 grand?? There's no way! Lol
I too am on SSI but haven't done my taxes last couple years cuz also self employed and not sure how to do them 😬 but really wish I did now 🤨
