Venmo is a Paypal company. Not sure if you can link the accounts together.

paypal has a lot more protections than venmo. venmo isnt fdic insured or whatever, so dont keep a lot of money in the acct.

I use Venmo only when specifically requested. My preferred is PayPal. If you are ever concerned, use gift cards or prepaid cards instead of linking directly to your bank.
Can u get Venmo if your bank don't have it?
Yes. Venmo is an app that you connect your bank to. Banks often often Zelle though.
Venmo is separate from paypal. All banks use zelle

When I have to provide a credit card and don't want to chance problems later I use the Amex Bluebird from Walmart. This is slightly different than the Bluebird offered by others.
It's a prepaid card that can be funded from your bank account or at Walmart and has no loading fees like Visa & Mastercard prepays do.
Weirdly, venmo doesn't work for me, can't verify my cell phone but PayPal works. I only use for friends who I need to transfer money to. I use bill pay through my bank for everything else

I think venmo is more informal
I prefer PayPal but I have both. I'm just curious as to why you can't link the two if they are partner companies.

I would do some research and stick with one, the more accounts you have the harder it is to keep track of them all.
I love PayPal. I have venom too and there is money in my account but I dont know how to use venmo.
Good to know about Venmo not being FDIC. I took for granted all financial establishments would have insurance. I don't ever keep money in there, but have used it to pay contractors a few times. It's nice when you have to do it quickly and the other person is setup, but not my go to option.
